ALL SHOOTERS AND SPECTATORS ARE ASKED TO WEAR ‘GYM SHOES’ TO THIS EVENT TO KEEP BLACK SOLES FROM SCRUFFING THE FLOOR.
The HDSA Hoop-A-Thon is part of a national event, with people in cities across America joining together to help find a cure for Huntington’s Disease (HD). HD is a neurological disorder affecting not only the person diagnosed with HD, but their entire family as well. Over 30,000 people in the United States are currently diagnosed with HD. Each of their siblings and children have a 50% risk of developing this disease. HD is a family disease, not just because it is inherited, but because it profoundly affects the entire family emotionally, socially and financially.
Hoop-A-Thon participants attempt free-throws for a three or five minute period. The participants obtain sponsors (friends, family members, co-workers, etc) in advance by having them pledge money for every basket made. Donations can also be pledged as a flat rate.
REMEMBER…THE MORE PLEDGES AND DONATIONS YOU COLLECT…THE MORE SUCCESSFUL THE EVENT AND THE CLOSER WE GET TO FINDING A CURE!!!
